Last North Shore civic awards sees 40 nominations

Forty nominations for 2010 North Shore City Civic Awards have been received by North Shore City Council.

The awards recognise voluntary effort which benefits individuals and communities within North Shore City. They celebrate all volunteer participation in the community whether it is large or small.

The nominations are now being assessed by the relevant selection panels and award recipients will be confirmed at a council meeting in mid-August, following which recipients will be advised.

The awards will then be formally presented at an invitation-only ceremony at the Bruce Mason Centre on Tuesday 14 September.

With the North Shore becoming part of the Auckland Council on 1 November 2010, this will be the final opportunity for the awarding of the North Shore City Civic Awards.

Nominations closed on Friday, 25 June.
