Tasman Trespass expected to arrive around 10am Sunday

Shaun Quincey continues to make great progress as he heads for a landing on 90 Mile Beach in Northland.

Crowds of supporters, friends and crew are expected to welcome him home sometime tomorrow morning. For a while it looked like he may miss New Zealand but winds that were pushing him north have eased and he’s making great progress for the coastline.

Tonight will be his final night on board Tasman Trespasser and his one last challenge will be to battle the waves and make a safe landing on the beach.

Here is a Google earth picture of his possible landing point plotted on his current course. At 5pm Saturday night he’s currently 69km to the nearest point of land and 82km from his likely landing spot.
