Tasman Trespasser – 3 weeks at sea

So today marks 21 days at sea. The intrepid traveller from Takapuna has been up against over recent times but the last 24 hours has signalled a turn around in fortunes.

Below are comments from Mayor Andrew Williams on Shaun’s trip which is to raise funds for Surf Life Saving. The following is his blog from website www.tasmantrespasser.com.

Today was a nice day on the Tasman. There was still a bit of a swell moving west but Quincey managed to get some good strokes in and has headed south which is favourable.

Today’s highlight was jumping overboard to scrub the hull which had picked up about a cm thick worth of barnacles and other sea life. Shaun managed to scrub about half the boat however this attracted a lot of sea life and with a couple shark sightings in the past week he decided he will scrub the other half tomorrow!

Forecast for tomorrow is zero wind and then NW in the following few days so he is very excited to row!
