North Shore City Council are trying to promote the use of bicycles for commuters, and there are two opportunities for people keen to give cycling a go.
On Thursday 11th February, 6pm to 8pm at North Harbour Stadium, Albany, there will be a Beginner Bike Session for Adults – and it’s free!
This will be an opportunity for beginners to learn the basics of cycling and road safety in a safe and supportive environment, with bikes and helmets available for those who do not have access to them.
At the end of the session there is the option to take part in an on-road ‘follow the leader’ ride.
Phone 4868600 or email debbie.lang@northshorecity.govt.nz for more information.
For those more experienced, if you want to cycle to work between now and the 9th of April, sign up at www.bikewisetowork.co.nz for weekly emails with support, advice and tips.
Monitor your rides on this website and you can go into a draw to win monthly prizes.
