North Shore residents may wish to double check their address details following national confusion over possible names for “locals” who may know a location by a different name.
A new website has been launched to ensure that people in trouble dialing 111 can receive help when emergency services need to find their address quickly.
Terralink International, provides physical address and location data to emergency service when 111 calls are made.
Terralink Managing Director Mike Donald says the idea for the website emerged following a number of incidents where emergency services couldn’t find an address, because they had been given a local name for a road or an address instead of it’s official name.
Checking the details of your address could save lives.
If North Shore residents would like to “discuss” favoured location names which may be known by a colloquial term, they can post their suggestions below or contact: www.myaddress.co.nz .
