Dr Ian Robinson has died as a result of injuries sustained in a hit and run.

62 year-old Dr Robinson was biking along Peak Rd in Helensville on Wednesday morning when he was hit by a utility.

His  fellow rider who was also a doctor administered first aid until an ambulance arrived, Dr Robinson never regained consciousness and died in later in hospital.

Police are asking for information in regard to a cream or white 1980s Toyota utility vehicle which hit Dr Robinson.
